Jean-Louis Archinard, Swiss watch manufacturer and watch dealer
Jean-Louis Archinard worked in Geneva in the first half of the 19th century. He was born in Geneva on February 25, 1770, to the watchmaker Jean-Pierre Archinard (1740-1802) and Sara Gibert (ca 1747-1811). Jean-Louis was the brother of Jacob-Hercule Archinard (1768-1845), a maker of gold, enamel, guilloche and engraved watch cases. Jacob-Hercule supplied watch cases to Vacheron & Constantin and presumably also to his brother.

Archinard married Suzanne Rollier (1766-1860) on November 3, 1794. How this marriage went is not entirely clear; in any case, Jean-Louis fathered three children with Jeanne Françoise Lavanchy (1805-1878). Jean-Louis Lavanchy dit Archinard (1827-1900) , Jean-Charles Lavanchy dit Archinard (1829-1906) and Louise Lavanchy dit Archinard (1831-1913) . Jean-Louis later recognized her.
Jean-Louis Archinard died in Geneva on March 19, 1848.
