A fine and rare French, silver, keyless pocket watch with split seconds chronograph, circa 1900. A polished case, gold olive shaped button at 1 o’clock for the split seconds, start/stop of the chronograph activated by depressing the crown. Hinged silver cuvette with Bulletin de 1ere Classe engraving. White enamel dial, black Arabic numerals, outer minute track, outermost fifths of a second chronograph division, subsidiary seconds and 60 minutes counter. Black steel spade hands. A matte gilt movement, 15 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bi metallic compensation balance with gold screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. Cuvette and dial signed.
