Gold open faced keyless lever watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat pink gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. It features a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement and a three quarter plate, frosted, gilded architecture. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with gold dots, Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and dark Louis XV style hands. The timepiece is housed in a polished and chased 18 carat solid pink gold open faced case stamped with a horsehead hallmark. The back cover is engraved with an elaborate foliage and leaf motif surrounding a central cartouche. It also has a double hinged protective back cover and a highly polished inner cuvette that opens to reveal the mechanical movement, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
