Gold open faced lever watch
–
A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket chronograph watch, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This watch has a mechanical movement with a lever escapement and a bimetallic, compensated balance. The chronograph function is operated by a pusher integrated into the fluted crown. The white enamel dial shows Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, spade hands, and a large blued steel central chronograph seconds hand. The three body solid gold case has a polished finish with a stylised, intertwined monogram engraved on the back. The watch includes a double gold inner cuvette to protect the movement.
