Gold hunting cased keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch made by Girard Perregaux in Chaux de Fonds, circa 1900. This watch has a mechanical, manually wound movement with a high grade lever escapement and a frosted gilded plate finish, signed Girard Perregaux. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic numerals from 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gilt hands. The timepiece is housed in a substantial 18 carat solid yellow gold hunting case featuring front and back covers richly decorated with a fine engine turned fluted design, a matching 18 carat gold cuvette intricately engraved with circular prize medal engravings and technical signatures from the manufacturer in Chaux de Fonds, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
