A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, dating from the early 20th century. The watch features a hand wound mechanical movement with a crown set mechanism and a lever escapement. The white enamel dial displays black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer railway minute track with Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. It is fitted with decorative gilt Louis XV style hands. The 18 carat gold case is elaborately decorated on the back with fine engine turned engraving and a central shield shaped cartouche, surrounded by delicate floral and foliate scrolls. The watch has a matching gold inner cuvette and a fluted crown with a circular bow.
