A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. It has a mechanical hand wound movement with lever escapement, protected by an inner gold cuvette. The white enamel dial shows bold black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer railway minute track with Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gilt Louis XV style hands. The round 18 carat gold case has a hinged back with a detailed equestrian decoration. The Swiss origin is confirmed by the 18 carat gold hallmarks and the movement’s technical layout.
