A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch from the turn of the 20th century. It has a mechanical movement with a cylinder escapement. The white enamel dial shows stylised Arabic numerals for the hours (1–12), an inner ring of smaller red Arabic numerals for the 24 hour scale (13-24), an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and spade hands. The 18 carat yellow gold case back features an unengraved cartouche within a decorative floral and foliate frame. The case shows significant wear and damage, with a fluted crown and a circular bow at 12 o’clock.
