A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. This watch has a mechanical key winding movement with a cylinder escapement. The white enamel dial shows black painted Roman numerals for the hours, outer minute dots with Arabic five minute numerals 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and ornate gold filigree hands. The timepiece is housed in a round three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with an elaborately engraved back cover decorated with floral and foliage scrolls surrounding a central shield cartouche, a fluted caseband, a sturdy round suspension bow, and a solid 18 carat gold inner protective cuvette.
