Gold open faced keyless lever watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made for the American retailer Benedict Brothers in New York, circa 1920. This watch has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement, finished with separate bridges and a compensated balance wheel. The white enamel dial shows black Arabic numerals for the hours, red Arabic five minute markers, a railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel spade hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a polished exterior, a gold inner cuvette stamped Benedict Bros New York, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
