A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with double layered 24 hour display, Circa 1900. This watch has an unsigned mechanical hand wound movement with a lever escapement, crown winding, and an integrated pin pusher hand setting mechanism on the bezel near the 11 o’clock position. The circular enamel dial has black Roman numeral hour markers for standard hours, an inner concentric hour ring with red Arabic numerals for afternoon hours (13–24), an outer chemin de fer railroad minute track, and an indented subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, paired with ornate, openwork blued steel hands.

The 18 carat yellow gold case has a polished front bezel and a hinged back cover detailed with a hand chased Rococo style scrolling foliate layout, flanked by an outer border of acanthus and oak leaves in reserve. Inside is a solid 18 carat yellow gold dust cover (cuvette) stamped with serial number and bearing French horsehead gold assay hallmarks. The watch includes a matching 18 carat yellow gold Venetian link chain, weighing 10.00 grams and measuring 60 cm in length.
