Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced minute- or quarter repeating pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva and retailed by Hessenberg & Co in Frankfurt am Main, circa 1900. The watch has a gold plated precision manual wind movement with crown winding and a traditional lever escapement, signed by the maker. The white enamel dial shows black Arabic numerals for the hours, a black railway minute track with red five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold Louis XV style hands. The timepiece is housed in a classic round 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case, signed Patek Philippe & Cie Genève. It has an 18 carat gold inner dust cover engraved with the retailer’s name, Hessenberg & Co., Frankfurt a/M, a fluted winding crown, and a round suspension bow. The back cover is embellished with a beautifully integrated personalized monogram.
