A rare two colour gold Swiss automatic astronomical open faced keyless lever watch with month and astrolabic indications, circa 1987. So called Astrolabium Galileo Galilei. This watch features a gilded movement with lever escapement, 33 jewels, a monometallic balance, and a damascened rotor signed Astrolabium Ulysse Nardin. The dial is tri colour, with blued steel hands indicating the meantime, a sun hand indicating the solar hour, sunrise, sunset, dawn, dusk, month, and zodiac sign on the planespheric ecliptic, temporal hours, equinoxes, a moon hand indicating the moonrise, moonset, and phases of the moon, the positions of the sun, moon, and stars as seen from Earth, and a gilt dragon hand indicating eclipses of the sun and moon, with a single crown controlling all the functions.

The case is made of 18k two colour gold with a yellow gold body, a stepped bezel with a white gold octagonal section, an upper yellow gold bezel calibrated with Roman numerals, a crown with protective two colour gold shoulders, a large gold ring bow, a polished case back with personalised engraving, and is signed to the interior Ulysse Nardin, Astrolabium Galileo Galilei.

The watch is in good, clean condition and the movement appears to be running well. All indications suggest that it is functioning correctly. The dial is in very good condition, while the case has been lightly polished and shows some scuffs. The case back is engraved with the personalized message Luigi Giribaldi.
