Coated metal split second chronograph with register by Omega

A rare and large Swiss coated metal open faced split second chronograph watch designed for the Olympic Games, circa 1964. This timepiece features a blackened silver dial with painted Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, an outermost white chapter ring with markers indicating the 1/10ths of a second and Arabic numerals for the 60 seconds, sunken subsidiary seconds, a 30 minute register and original steel baton hands. The movement is made of gilt brass, 21 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self compensating Breguet balance spring and swan neck micrometre regulator. It is housed in a coated black metal case with a dust cover. The dial, case and movement are all signed. It also comes with its original red transport case with a carrying strap.
