A Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased quarter repeating lever pocket watch with a concealed erotic scene, circa 1900. Nickelled three-quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel, plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring, club foot lever escapement, slide quarter repeating on two steel gongs, cam and lever to drive the automaton above the plate. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds, decorative pierced gilt hands. Substantial engine turned case, vacant shield-shaped cartouche on the front cover within a garter, gold slide in the band. The gold cuvette made in two parts conceals the scene, the upper part engraved with details of the movement, opening the upper gold cuvette reveals an amorous scene under a glazed cover of two parcel-gilt figures on a gilt engine turned background, when the repeat is activated the man springs to life as the train runs.
