A fine Swiss gold and enamel gentleman’s open faced keyless lever dress watch, circa 1911. Damascened ultrathin 17”’ lever movement, signed by Patek Philippe and numbered 165472, featuring a cut and compensated bimetallic balance. The white enamel dial displays Breguet numerals, an outer minute ring with red Arabic five minute markers, and blued steel hands. It includes a subsidiary seconds dial with red Arabic numerals. The 18 carat gold case showcases an engine turned back, engraved with a laurel leaf border and a Roman soldier’s head in profile, all overlaid with translucent grey enamel. The bezel is adorned with translucent grey guilloché enamel and opaque white enamel banding, while the band features a white enamel Greek key design. The case is signed and numbered 273534. This piece is accompanied by an Extract from the Archives, confirming its production in 1911 and sale on July 3, 1914.
