A Swiss very big and heavy pocket watch chronometer with extravagant detent escapement, circa 1900.
18-carat gold case with three gold lids, monogram, inscribed Chronometre Qualite Superieure no. 222015 and additional glazed movement; rare and very extravagant detent escapement with a pivoted detent in combination with leaf spring instead of the usual hairspring, a helical hairspring, screwed gold chatons and fine adjusting device; white signed enamel dial in very beautiful condition with black Roman hours, red Arabic hours, sunk subsidiary dial for the seconds and gilt Louis XV hands. Case, movement and dial inscribed CHRONOMETRE and matching numbers on case and movement.
