Gold, enamel and diamond-set ball-shaped watch

A very fine, rare and early Swiss 18K gold, enamel and diamond-set cylinder ball-form watch, circa 1866. Sold in July 1867 to Black & Murray, Calcutta. Gilt frosted full plate movement, wound through the bezel, cylinder escapement and ring balance.
White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and red 12, outer minute divisions, blued spade hands. Ball-shaped case, applied scrolls made of gold wire and gold granulations, the back with a central blue enamel ring set with rose-cut diamonds. Dial signed by the retailer, movement signed by the watchmaker. Comes with a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives.
