An important gold Swiss pocket watch with early cylinder escapement, chatelaine and original box, Jean Jaques Richard au Locle, circa 1740. An 18 Carat pink gold, case elaborately engine turned and of very high quality, maker’s mark IA with crown, signed early full plate movement with cylinder escapement, signed enamel dial, presumably original hands, extraordinary chatelaine made of polished stainless steel, enamel painting, gilt seal pendant and gilt key, original museum like box, inside covered with velvet, outside covered with snake skin, in working order, only a small chipping at the winding hole, otherwise in very beautiful original condition.
