A very fine Swiss pair cased quarter repeating verge pocket watch, circa 1740. It has two cases: the outer case is made of 18-carat gold à goutte and features a finely engraved pierced outer border adorned with shellwork and mascarons and a large lateral hinge; the inner case is also made of 18-carat gold and comes with a pierced outer border that is finely engraved with shellwork and mascarons, rear bell, and signed movement protection cap. The enamel dial displays radial Roman hours, radial Arabic minutes, and filigree hands. The watch boasts of a fine full plate movement, keywind, applied decorations, chain/fusee, two hammers, solid circular movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, and finely engraved balance cock with mascaron.
