A Swiss yellow gold five-minute repeating hunting cased chronograph keyless watch with jumping fifth of a second, circa 1900, highly jeweled nickel lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, Jürgensen patented bow setting.
White enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer chronograph scale, subsidiary dial for jumping fifths.
18k Yellow gold polished case, five-minute repeat activated through a slide in the band, round chronograph pusher in the band, hinged back, case, dial and movement signed.

Jules Jürgensen
Jules Jurgensen was a watchmaking company. It was founded by Jürgen Jürgensen in 1740 in Denmark, when Jürgen Jürgensen went into partnership with Isaac Larpent, under the name “Larpent & Jürgensen”.
Upon Jürgen’s death in 1811, his youngest son Frederik took over the company and changed the name to “Frederik Jürgensen”.
Jules Jürgensen produced many watches in SwitzerlandJules Jürgensen 1808-1877 was born in Le Locle 1808 as son of the watchmaker Urban Jürgensen (grandson of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet). In Copenhagen Jurgensen received his training in the watchmaking business of his family and in addition studied mathematics, astronomy and foreign languages. Shortly after the death of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet, Jürgensen went to Switzerland and opened a watch manufactory in Le Locle. His precision watches gained worldwide recognition.
