Golay Fils & Stahl was founded by watchmaker Auguste Golay-Leresche in Geneva and sold to Monsieur Stahl around the turn of the century. The shop was soon awarded the title of jeweller to the court of King Carol I of Romania. The king regularly visited the premises in Geneva. Other faithful customers included Prince Damrong of Siam and the Maharaja of Baroda.
