Gold Carillon watch with Grande Sonnerie

An excellent Swiss 14 carat yellow gold, pearl-set and enamel keyless pocket watch, circa 1900. Minute repeater, carillon and Grande sonnerie watch made for the Chinese market. A polished case, front cover painted on enamel with a portrait of a lady, red translucent enamel background, back with one goat and two women, band decorated with red enamel inlay, the front and rear bezels set with pearls, hinged gold cuvette with engravings.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic markers, subsidiary seconds dial and gold fancy hands. Matte gilt movement, double train with differential winding, 28 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, index regulator, striking the quarters on three gongs with three hammers, centrifugal governor between the dial and dial plate, Silence/Chime selection lever on the bezel border, repeating activated by a trip push-piece in the band.
