A gold quarter repeating automaton watch, circa 1900. Gilt full plate movement, balance bridge pierced and engraved with scrolls, automaton consisting of Father Time to the top chiming the hours and two putti below chiming the quarters, centred by a vari-colour gold architectural scene, white enamel chapter ring, Roman numerals, all against a blue steel ground, associated gold case, the bezels set with pearls, the back with translucent blue enamel over guilloché bordered by light blue enamel engraved with scrolls, reeded case band, repeat lock to the case band at 1 o’clock.
