Gold, enamel, and diamond set Full Hunter by E.H. Jaccard & Co.
–
A gold, enamel, and diamond-set Swiss hunting-cased keyless lever minute repeating watch with chronograph, circa 1900. Made for the Austrian market. This timepiece features a gilded lever escapement, a bimetallic compensation balance, two polished steel hammers striking on two gongs, and a ruby endstone. The white enamel dial has Roman numerals, an outer chronograph seconds scale, gold Louis XV hands, a blued steel chronograph hand, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute recording at 12 o’clock. The 14k gold polished case showcases the front with a polychrome enamel Austrian Coat of Arms, while the reverse features a diamond and paste-set monogram beneath a crown. Additionally, the chronograph button is located in the band at 12 o’clock, and the cuvette is inscribed and signed E.H. Jaccard & Cie, Geneva, with the cover and cuvette numbered.

The case shows yellowing at the edges, suggesting that the panels have been inserted. Some evidence of repairs to the hinges is present. The dial is clean, with no visible cracks. The movement runs when wound, but the slide repeat button does not engage. The chronograph button sticks, but it does activate the chronograph hand and resets correctly.
