A fine and rare Swiss yellow gold and enamel open faced pendant watch ‘The Triumph of Amphitrite’ made in 1893, manual winding jeweled movement.
White enamel dial, painted Breguet numerals, outer minute track, Louis XVI hands, 18k yellow gold bassine case, guilloché case back with translucent burgundy enamel with painted scene of the Triumph of Amphitrite, with additional enamel decoration to the bezel, slight losses and restoration, case, dial, and movement signed.

A nearly identical example, no. 100632, is illustrated in the Patek Philippe Museum book, Vol. II, p. 87. The text notes that example was delivered in December 1893 to Tiffany & Co., and the enamel scene was completed by E. Lossiere.In Greek mythology, Amphitrite was the wife of Poseidon, god of the sea.
