Brass and silvered cylinder watch
–
An extremely rare, interesting and probably unique Swiss experimental clock watch with quarter hour/hour self strike and quarter hour/hour repeater, circa 1810.
The watch has a power reserve of one week. A brass, silvered, case band with sound holes, rear bell, enamel dial, full plate movement, two hammers, chain/fusee, two barrels, cylinder escapement, large three-arm brass balance, polished balance bridge.
This extremely rare timepiece repeats the hours, followed by quarters with four quarters on the hour. The repeat button is in the band at about 2:30 adjacent to an on/off self-striking switch.
The self strike mechanism strikes the quarters and at the full hour four quarters followed by the hour.
