Unsigned hunting cased keyless lever repeating chronograph
–
A Swiss gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever chronograph watch with register, circa 1920. This watch features an unsigned damascened nickel movement with wolf’s tooth winding, a lever escapement, and a centrally jewelled mechanism. It boasts a bimetallic compensation balance, a blued steel overcoil hairspring, and a steel chronograph mechanism partially visible through the backplate. The repeating hammers are satin finished, with polished chamfered edges and striking coiled gongs. The white enamel dial showcases Arabic numerals, an outer track for minutes and chronograph seconds, two sunken subsidiary dials for seconds, a 30 minute register, gold hands, and a blued steel centre seconds. The 18 carat gold case features plain polished gold covers and a cuvette, alongside a chronograph button and a repeating slide on the band, which is adorned with Swiss hallmarks and stamped with the cartouche MF S, with the S intertwined with a cross.

Movement runs, chronograph works, and minute register records. The repeater is loud and functions well. Hands set smoothly, though the lever might need adjustment as it slips out of set mode. Some small scratches are present, but it’s generally in good aesthetic condition. The dial is overall good, with a minor chip at the edge below 6 o’clock, hidden when the bezel is in place. The case is heavy and in good condition with light scuffs. Covers close securely.
