A Swiss silver pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1870. With centre-seconds, mirror-polished movement and Jacot duplex escapement. An Empire case, the back with an engraved scene of a watchmaker. Glazed cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel dial with narrow radial Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds divisions, outer Arabic fifteen-minute/seconds numerals and blued steel spade hands. Mirror-polished steel movement, Chinese calibre with free-standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel wings, blued steel flat balance spring, and an index regulator. Movement signed.
