Gold musical cylinder pocket watch

A fine and rare Swiss 18 Carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating musical pocket watch, circa 1820. A polished case, reeded band, engine turned back with vacant central cartouche, bolt at 1 o’clock to activate the music, bolt at 3 o’clock for music/silent. Hinged gilt metal cuvette. Gold dial with applied radial Roman hours on an engine turned chapter ring, outer dot minute divisions, acanthus and flower engraved decoration in the centre, blued steel Breguet hands. A gilt brass movement, going barrels, cylinder escapement, three arm plain brass balance with flat balance spring, polished endplate, index regulator, sur plateau musical movement with 20 blued steel vibrating teeth playing on both sides of the disc, playing music on the hour or at will, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed movement punched with a four leaf clover mark.
