A fine and rare Swiss silver gilt and enamel open faced pocket watch with jumping center seconds and half seconds, seconde foudroyante, made for the Chinese market, circa 1835. Case with polychrome enamel plaque with a bouquet of summer flowers to the back, half pearl set edges, half pearl set pendant. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, jumping center seconds, sunken seconde foudroyante and blued flower hands. Gilt frosted bridge movement, florally engraved, keywind, blued screws, going barrel, duplex escapement, three armed steel balance.
