A Swiss very fine, heavy hunting cased pocket watch, Valjoux “Heuer Leonidas“, with split-seconds chronograph, circa 1985.
18 carat gold, tiered, polished case with reeded band and pusher for chronograph at “2” and “4”. Signed enamel dial with Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds at “9”, 30 minute counter, split-seconds chronograph and gold Louis XV hands. 1/2 plate movement, rhodium-plated, ground, with two adj., seventeen jewels, finely ground and bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, glazed movement, Glucydur balance and a Glucydur lever and escape wheel.

Presumably these very expensive split seconds chronographs did not go into series production and were not sold. Only a few of these heavy chronographs exist and all of them are in unworn condition. Probably new-old-stock! Limited special edition, No 20.
