Olympic chronograph rattrapante with original box

An Olympic chronograph rattrapante with original box, made for the XVII Olympic Games in Rome by Omega SA in Biel, Switzerland, circa 1960. The numbered plain open faced lacquered case of this chronometer was crafted from metal. The blackened silver dial with painted grey Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, an outermost superimposed white chapter ring with markers indicating the 1/10th of a second and Arabic numerals for 60 seconds, a sunk subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute register at 12 o’clock, partially whitened steel baton hands and orange and red split seconds chronograph hands. The numbered precision movement has a lever escapement, 21 jewels, a high speed oscillator and a Breguet hairspring.
Dial and movement are signed.
