A large Swiss minute repeating hunting cased pocket watch with chronograph, full calendar and moon phase, circa 1900.
18-carat rose polished gold case; front lid with inner engraving: Riunione Automobilistica Padova 16 Ottobre 1904, with numbered and signed gold dome, pusher for chronograph at 2, pusher for repetition at 6 and glazed movement. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, extra seconds with moon phase, three subsidiary dials for indications of the weekday, month and date, centre chronograph and Louis XV hands. 1/2 plate movement, frosted, gilt, with ground and bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, two hammers, two gongs, Swiss Patent 12172 (Régulateur silencieux, pour sonnerie de montres à répétition, Stolz Frères), Swiss Patent 334 (Perfectionnements apportés à la construction des mécanismes de répétition pour montres de poche detoutes dimensions, Barbezat-Baillot), governor for repetition, gold-chatoned centre wheel and gold screw compensation balance.
