An exquisite Swiss gold hunting cased pocket watch with minute repeater and chronograph Compteur, circa 1900.
Polished 18K gold à goutte case with a gold dome, pusher for chronograph at 12 and slide for repeating mechanism. Enamel dial with Breguet-style radial hours, outer minutes/seconds track with Arabic five minutes/seconds numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds, 30-minute counter, and pink gold Louis XV-style hands. Signed very fine calibre, finely ground, bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, two hammers, two gongs, gold screw compensation balance, counterpoised lever.
