Gold designer watch with original box and brochure
–
A new old stock Hundertwasser designer pocket watch developed in collaboration with the Swiss watchmaking school in Biel, absolutely unused, circa 1992. The open faced curved solid case of this watch crafted from 18 carat gold has been blackened and contains more than 50 grams of gold, its crown is set with a tourmaline and the band shows the numbers 1-12. The polychrome double sided design dial has multicoloured hands and the back dial still has the original foil. This watch has the special movement Unitas 6497. The original wooden presentation box can also be used as a stand and contains the original brochure of the watch.
Dial and box are signed.

This timepiece is a limited edition designed by Epos and the renowned Austrian painter and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Hundertwasser, most commonly known for using spirals and arabesque lines as well as intense colours in his projects, took seven years to complete the design. Not only does the watch’s dial strongly identify the artist, but the two pairs of hands at the front and back of the watch run reversed to show the paradoxical time in which the artist believes. Originally, 999 watches were planned for this limited edition, but due to the high sales price of 24.400 Swiss Francs, probably no more than 200 pieces have come into circulation.

The Unitas 6497 movement has been enhanced by teachers and students at the Swiss Watchmaking School in Biel so that a second hand device can run counterclockwise on the back.
–
Friedensreich Regentag Dunkelbunt Hundertwasser was an Austrian artist who later took on New Zealand citizenship. Born as Friedrich Stowasser in Vienna on December 15, 1928, he became, although controversial, one of the best known contemporary Austrian artists by the end of the 20th century. He died on February 19, 2000, aboard the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 near New Zealand.

New old stock
New old stock (NOS), in short, old stock or new original stock refers to aged stock of merchandise that was never sold to a customer and is still new in its original packaging. Such merchandise may not be manufactured anymore and the new old stock may represent the only current source of a particular item. There is no consensus on how old a product must be to be NOS, but some people reserve an NOS label only for products that are actually discontinued. Although it is not an officially recognized accounting term, it is commonly used in the auction and retail industries. For example, owners of classic, vintage, and antique vehicles or other machines seek NOS parts that are needed to keep their bicycles, automobiles, motorcycles, trucks or timepieces operational or in factory original condition.
