Unsigned silver and pearl set mirror image pair of watches

A Swiss museum quality pair of MIRROR-IMAGE enamel set centre seconds pocket watches with painting, in original box, circa 1844. Made for the Chinese market. These watches feature silver cases with pearl rims on both sides, a painted lady’s portrait on the back, and a dark blue engine-turned enamel background. They have gilt interiors and English Hallmarks from 1844. The watches also have a glazed dome with a spring lid function. The fire-gilt Fleurier calibres with mock pendulum and lever escapement ensure accurate timekeeping. The enamel dials are convex with narrow Roman numerals, outer minutes/seconds divisions, Arabic quarter hour numerals, centre seconds, and blued steel hands. These watches are in excellent original condition and come with their original box.
