Dubois, Philippe (1738 – 1808), Swiss watch manufacturer
Moise Du Bois’s son entered the father’s watch business together with his sister Isabeau. In 1764, he took over the management of the business and began manufacturing pocket watches and clocks. In 1785, Philippe’s three sons joined the company. This time is officially the opening of the house, which has been called” Ph. Du Bois & Fils” ever since. Even today Dubois is still based in the founding house in Le Locle. Mostly exclusive, complicated wristwatches are made, mostly with mechanical Eta movements.
