–
A Swiss gold quarter repeating key wound musical pocket watch, circa 1820. This watch features a gilded musical movement with a cylinder escapement, two standing barrels for going and musical trains, and repeating on steel gongs. The engine turned gold dial is signed Ls. Duchène et Fils and has white enamel roundels with Arabic numerals surrounded by engraved foliage. The gilded cuvette has apertures for winding and hand setting, with corresponding directionals, and is signed Ls. Duchène & Fils, No. 94473. The gold open faced case has a short slide for silence/music to the band.

The dial has some scratches, but the cartouches are intact, with no cracks or losses to the enamel. The signature is rubbed, and possibly repaired. The case is loose at the hinges but is in good order otherwise. The music plays beautifully when the button is activated.
