A fine Swiss gilt brass single handed rectangular pocket watch made by Longines Watch Co to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the foundation of the city of St. Imier in 884 AD, circa 1984. The signed movement is fitted with 17 jewels and a lever escapement. The black enamel dial features a central gold coloured image of the sun, radial Roman hour numerals and an original pointer in the form of a hand. The rectangular case features engraved images and text, a visible movement on the back and the engraving: Saint-Imier 1100 Ans De La Cité.
