Large and heavy open faced gold clockwatch

A very fine, large and heavy Swiss 18 carat gold pair cased verge clockwatch with à toc et à tact repeater, self strike and date, circa 1820. High grade verge movement, two windings for wheel train and striking train, engraved main plate, bridge decorated with a Lyra, self striking hours and half hours, repeating hours, small pendant button. White enamel dial with Roman hours, central date, central hand and blued steel hands. Case punched Neuchatel 1820, maker’s mark FG, plain outer case, inner case pierced with very fine sound openings and engraved, bell, striking train with muting device, repeating on bell or à toc.
