Silver hunting cased keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss silver hunting cased pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1926, and sold in 1937. It features a mechanical crown winding gilt brass movement with a moustache lever escapement, a cut bimetallic balance wheel, and a blued steel Breguet balance spring, signed Patek Philippe. The white enamel dial displays black Breguet numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel Breguet style hands, signed Patek, Philippe & Cie and marked Fab. Suisse at 6 o’clock.
–
The timepiece is housed in a smooth silver full hunter case (bassine shape) with a plain polished spring hinged front cover, a matching smooth reverse back cover, and a solid silver inner protective cuvette with an engraved signature. The fluted winding crown, suspension bow, and two hinges are accented with yellow gold plating. The case bears the Swiss ‘bear’ and ‘swan’ hallmarks along with the Fab. Suisse designation. The watch comes with its original fitted presentation box and an Extract from the Archives dated October 2013.
