Silver watch with jumping counter
–
An attractive and intricate Swiss pocket watch with split seconds chronograph and jumping 30 min. counter, circa 1926
The watch is striking not only because of its three-colour dial but also because of the fine gold mountings on the almost pristine case that is decorated with an exquisitely engine-turned pattern.
The quality of the movement with mirror-polished and bevelled steel chronograph parts and the visible overhead split second mechanism is outstanding.
The case is silver with gold mountings. The dial is enamel with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic for the minutes, subsidiary dials for seconds and 30-minute counter, red minutes and seconds. It has a 2/3 plate movement and a screw compensation balance.
