Silver day and night pocket watch

An English silver day and night pair cased pocket watch by William Dixon, Yorkshire, circa 1815. Polished outer silver pair case (later); polished silver case. Silver champlevé dial, with, in the upper part, the semicircular indication of the hours in Roman numerals (VI-XII-VI), and, on the outside, the minutes in Arabic numerals indicated from five to five; in the aperture. An engraved rotating disc indicating the nocturnal hours by a sky studded with stars and a moon, and of the diurnal hours by a radiant sun, blued steel minute hand. A gilded brass movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, polished steel monometallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring, pierced and engraved gilded English cock with a bust of a lady. The case is stamped by I.M., probably John Moore, Birmingham. Master case maker registered circa 1805, Birmingham letter date for 1815. Later pair case, Birmingham letter date for 1849. Signature on the movement.
