Silver pocket watch with a 24-hour dial

A very fine silver keyless pocket watch with Breguet numerals and 24 hour dial. Accompanied by the original Longines fitted presentation box, numbered Longines certificate and numbered original hang-tag. Specially made for the Tir Federal crossbow archery contest in 1934 by Longines, Saint-Imier, Switzerland, circa 1934.
Four body, demi bassine, polished and frosted case which has the back cover cast with a design by W. Jordan Del Hugenin SC. of a kneeling archer (William Tell) surrounded by the inscription ‘Tir Federal Fribourg 1934’. Hinged silver cuvette engraved with the Longines Grand Prix medals.
White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track and blue painted Arabic 24-hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and blued steel Breguet hands. Rhodium-plated movement with 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and a cam micrometre regulator.
Dial, case and movement signed.

This watch has remained in `as new` condition since its presentation in 1934. It is accompanied by the original numbered certificate and even still retains the original numbered Longines sales hang tag.
