Silver cylinder pocket watch

A fine and unusual Swiss, silver fob watch with a decorative silver bow. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives. Made for Jaques & Marcus, New York. Sold on October 16th, 1883. A polished case, domed glazed dial and matching domed glazed reverse, inner glazed movement cover, inset setting pin with a protective guard, mounts for the fob chains to the band. White enamel dial with inner black Arabic numerals, minute track with outer gold five-minute numerals. Gold index hands. A frosted gilt movement, 15 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, wolf’s tooth winding wheels. Signed by the retailer on the movement and dial.
