A very fine, thin Swiss 18K gold and enamel open faced gentleman’s pocket watch with the original presentation box, circa 1900.
A case with opaque and translucid enamel, the back cover with a very fine polychrome enamel painting depicting an alpine river landscape with conifers, a path in the foreground and a small bridge over an alpine purling brook against a background of mountains in the evening sun, both bezels decorated with laurel wreaths. Signed gilt dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions and blued Breguet hands. Rhodium-plated bridge movement, LeCoultre calibre, Geneva Striping decoration, 17 jewels, 7 adjustments and screw compensation balance.
