Gold open faced lever with chronograph by Longines
–
A Swiss 18 carat gold keyless dress watch with chronograph, instantaneous 30 minute register and outer tachometer scale, circa 1920-1925. This watch features a pendulum wound mechanical lever movement with an anchor escapement, a Breguet balance spring, and a column wheel. It has a white enamel dial with painted Arabic numerals, a minute track, a 30 minute chronograph subdial at 12 o’clock, a small seconds hand at 6 o’clock, a tachometric scale, and gold spade hands. The smooth case is made of 18 carat gold.
–
The dial and inner bowl are also in 18 carat gold, and the movement is signed. Both the movement and cuvette are numbered. Likely a doctor’s watch, graduated for 30 pulsations. It is attached to an 18 carat gold watch chain with stylised figure of eight links, embellished with springring and lobster clasps.
