A very fine and very rare, 18K gold, astronomical, keyless double-dialled world time pocket watch with triple date, moon phases and lunar calendar, circa 1890.
Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. White enamel dial, on the reverse with seven small subsidiary dials giving the time for New York, Paris, St. Petersburg, Calcutta, Melbourne, Vienna and Berlin, and on the back, subsidiary dials for the days of the week, the date and the months with inner subsidiary seconds, and moon phase aperture with the age on the border. Massive bassine polished 18K gold case with glazed back.
