A French silver and gilt, keyless pocket watch commemorating the Tir Cantonal de Morges in 1891, circa 1890 Accompanied by the original fitted box and guarantee. A massive case, gilded bezel and band with oak, laurel and berry chased decoration. The back is decorated with an infant holding a crossbow standing in front of Lake Leman. Hinged silver cuvette. White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals, outer minute track with Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary seconds and pink gold Louis XVI hands. Frosted gilt movement, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, Wilmot’s cam micrometre regulator. Dial and movement signed.
